Anna  Maritano

Anna Maritano was born in Turin in 1966 and lives and works in Milan. She received his degree from the Politecnico di Torino Architecture School, with a thesis on architectural design in archaeological sites (advisor: Prof. Daniele Vitale). She was awarded in 1994-1996 Prix de Rome pour l’architecture, at the Académie de France à Rome. She obtained a Ph.D. title in 1999 with a thesis entitled Le opere e il tempo. L'antico come modello dell'invenzione architettonica from the Università di Genova Architecture School, developing and expanding the relationship with the ancient architecture already studied in Rome. She was an adjunct professor at the Università di Genova Architecture School from 1999 to 2009, where he held teaching and research. She was awarded the Leone di Pietra with a project Pantelleria, il porto turistico, Marino Narpozzi chef, in the 10. International Architecture Exhibition Biennale di Architettura in Venice. She has done lectures, lessons and critiques at Italian and foreign Universities, among which the Department of Architectural and Industrial Design of Politecnico di Milano, the Department of Architectural and Industrial Design of Politecnico di Torino, the São Carlos Department of Architecture and Urban Design of the University of São Paulo. She carried out critical activity trough exhibitions and texts about Italian and international contemporary architects: Ignazio Gardella 1905-1999. She is editing, with Francesco Saverio Fera , a book of Marino Narpozzi writings, on the subject of architectural composition, entitled Conversazioni in-disciplinate di architettura. From 2007 she is co-founder of Basement15 architects, with Giulia Griotti, Angelo Lorenzi e Filippo Mascaretti, where she works as a freelance architect and participates in international competitions.
